The llamas keep the terraces in good shape.
We departed just as the crowds started to pour in, and as the citadel disappeared under a blanket of cloud. We were very lucky indeed.

BLOG: Mike O'Neill's 17,000kms adventure bike trip in South America. From Buenos Aires on 24/11, crossing 1,800kms of Argentina's Pampas. Then 2,000kms through Patagonia to Tierra Del Fuego. Turning north through 5000+kms of Chile, inc. 1,000kms of the Atacama Desert. Into Peru, over 5,000m Andean passes to The Lost City of the Inca's. Then down the back of the Andes for 2,000kms at 4,000m high past Lake Titicaca and along Bolivia's Altiplano, returning to Buenos Aires 9 wks later.
